Matti Arvela was appointed Executive Director and General Manager of Amgen Hellas and Cyprus in June 2015. Prior to that, Matti was Country Director in Amgen Finland, leading the Finnish affiliate to be a three times Great Place to Work winner. Matti also contributed as a European Brand Director based in HQ in Switzerland in launching one of Amgen’s successful cancer treatments. Before joining Amgen he worked almost eight years in Roche with increasing responsibilities in the area of oncology and hematology.

He has been working in the pharmaceutical industry for more than 18 years and through his various roles in the pharma industry Matti has had a critical role in launching innovative medicines for life-threatening diseases in Europe.

Since February 2017, he is elected Member of the Board at PhRMA Innovation Forum.

Matti holds a Master Degree in Science major subject in Molecular Biology. He has also conducted a cancer basic research as Graduate Student in the La Jolla Cancer Research Foundation and the University of Helsinki. Matti was born in Finland; he is married and has two children, aged 6 and 9.

Juan Fuertes Juan Fuertes is the Advocacy and Access Manager of PHA Europe, the umbrella organization for pulmonary hypertension patients' organization. He is also a Board Member of the European Patients' Forum and Council Member of the European Lung Foundation.
Carmen Paun Carmen Paun is a health care reporter for POLITICO, based in Brussels. Before joining POLITICO, she was a freelancer covering regulatory and international affairs out of the EU capital. She has reported on a wide range of topics, from money laundering to food production to chemicals, for media organizations such as International News Services and Chemical Watch.
